Erica Grow will leave Action News, when her contract expires with the company at the end of the year, according to the station sources. Erica Grow is a well-known American meteorologist. She has been working with WPVI-TV, channel 6 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania since 2007. Erica Grow was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley. She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Meteorology in 2002, and she is known to be a weekend meteorologist.
The native of Bethlehem, Erica Grow’s rise in the corporate world has been quite rapid. She started in 2003 at an ABC station in Odessa/Midland, Texas and soon after moved back east, to join WHP, the CBS affiliate in Harrisburg. WPVI has hired a weathercaster to replace Erica Grow, who elected not to reup after her contract expired. She's Melissa Magee, released in June from New York's Fox station over budget woes. Magee's on-air start has not been announced. Action News-ies seem excited about Magee, as she very well might be the station's first African American weather anchor. Her Accuweather bio said she started her career at Beverly Hills High School, graduated UCLA (English/French major who studied abroad in Paris), and landed her first big job at the CBS affiliate in Scottsbluff, Neb.
Next was a reporter/anchor job at the CBS/Fox affiliate in Bakersfield, Calif. In other 6ABC weather news, Adam Joseph seems to be the choice to replace the retiring Dave Roberts at 5 and 5:30 p.m. Roberts' last day will be Friday. Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner has a summer project: He's to star in a Paramount teenage-superhero flick called Max Steel, cowritten by Atco-bred Chad Damiani, a Paul VI and Rutgers-Camden grad and former Inquirer editorial assistant. Max Steel, which is still being written, will be based on a toy by Mattel.
